It is Sunday evening in the UK and as I was beginning to process my thoughts from the past week, I noticed how overwhelmed I was feeling. I know there are many of you who are feeling the same way. Each week seems to bring new issues and challenges. Many countries are going into their second Lockdown, as the virius continues to spread. So many people have lost so much this year. Which leads to people reacting in different ways. Sometimes we can feel so rejected.

I do not know where this blog is going. I am currently writing it on my phone as I sit on my bed. I guess I just wanted to be real and say, I have let a lot of worry and fear consume me. I have been constantly filling up on social media and news outlets. Which have continously clouded my thoughts and impacted my emotions.

Before I started typing, I was reminded of the need to refresh. To refresh my heart and mind and to fill up on God’s truth and faithfulness. Maybe this is the same for you at the moment. You realise, just like I have, that you have become so intoxicated with all the media is offering. It has led to fear or maybe it has led you to anger. As I sit here tonight and finish up my blog, I will take time with the Lord to ask Him to renew my broken heart. To allow Him to refresh my heart and mind, with His living and true word.

I pray you would allow the Lord to fill you up with His good word and hope again. The world will throw so many things at us. There will always be tradgey and heartbreak. Within those situations, where is our hope and trust being found? I know I want my trust to be found fully in the Lord. If it means laying down more of me, then I pray God will allow me the strength to do so.

I leave you now with some scripture and a few songs. We never know what this next week may bring but may our hope be firmly placed in the strong foundation of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrew 13v8

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13v5

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen. Ephesians 3v20-21

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore me to the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51v10-12
